Allietare Clue #4 - Bonnie Hunter - Mystery Quilt - With Allison and Jennifer

Can you sleep?  I can't.  I check at 2 a.m., at 3 a.m., at 4 a.m. and then I fall asleep until almost 6 a.m.  Wouldn't you know it?  Of course it posted at 5 a.m.  Now I'm behind the 8 ball and doing the big rush before my gal pals arrive.

YEP!  It's another sew day here by the Christmas tree.  I was all set up and ready to go last night.  Want to see how it looked before the clue hit?

Christmas and sewing all in the same room.  Is there a happier place?  The decision has been made to use our card tables to sew on and Allison is bringing her 500 table that I found for her (thinking it was a longbed 301 table) and a shortbed 301 table to surprise Jennifer with.  I can't wait for them to get here.  We have a couple small ironing stations (who needs a big board with only little pieces?) and some cutting areas.  It will work.

I quickly cut a few strips so that I don't monopolize the cutting area and even get most of my red trapezoids cut.  We are making "centerless bow-ties" today.  I'm loving this "headless" goose block and am so excited to see how these all play out together.  I just get finished, dressed, the kitchen under control, and am making coffee when I hear Allison come in the door.  Yep, this is home for them -- no need to ring the bell.  Are we ready to party?  Absolutely.

Jennifer arrives soon after and by 8:30 we have our little pod all set up with smiles all around.  It's time to cut, cut, cut.  Allison can't stand it after awhile and puts together a few units.  It's the required chest shot.  Oh -- do you want to see our pod of "ladies" in their cute tables?  Yummy huh?  (This picture taken later in the day once sewing commenced.)

By noon, we are all still cutting but the soup smells so good that our tummies win out.  Lunch time.  It is Beef Barley and oh so good.  We also have some fresh gingerbread that I made last night for dessert.  Everything warms the soul and we take a full hour just visiting and relishing the flavors.

Okay, back to the clue.  I am soon all cut and ready to sew.  Aren't these lovely little stacks of parts and pieces?  Across from me, Allison has wings being sewn on.  These colors just make my heart happy.  I'm pretty sure this quilt will spend time in the master bedroom once finished.  Jennifer's hands are busy at it as well.  This pod set up is wonderful and we laugh and talk the day away.  It is after 4 before we know it.  How the heck did that happen anyway?

I am trying to take a few "people" pictures this time and was hoping for one of all three of us but my sweetie abandoned us and went into the office today so we settle for duos.  Well, then some attempts are made at selfies.  HAHAHA --- it is Allison's first attempt and I am simply sharing it so that you can help me check out her tonsils.  You can tell we are laughing so hard at her.

I mention my gifts under the tree that I am not allowed to peek at and Allison proclaims that no such rules apply to her.  Soon she has crawled under all the tables to take a peek.

We are getting punch happy.  Silliness ensues.  And then the worst possible thing happens.  Someone has to leave and start the drive home.  What?  Ms. Allison is not the least bit happy about this and puts it off as long as she can.  Even stops to help Jen untangle her chain of headless geese.  It takes awhile but soon we have it all ready for her to work with and Allison once again returns to loading her things into the car.  We are already talking about when we can do this again.  I do not know Mister's schedule this next week so "maybe" we can pull it off again for clue 5.  Then again, maybe I will get lucky and have some time with my sweetheart.  It could happen.

I have created my own wonderful puddle of geese.

It is now time for the weekly decorating.  Hmmm.  How about here?

Jen, on the other hand, choose to self adorn.  That works too.  And then, sadly, she has to leave too.  Oh darn.  It is after 7 and my house is once again left to just us three:  me, myself, and I.  However, Mister is on the way home from work finally.  I settle in and start the process of finishing the units while I wait for him.

We have a little dinner of soup and rolls, watch an episode of the The Great Holiday Baking Show and then my units start calling me again.  I really would like to finish this clue before the day is over.  I get busy and around 11 have completed my goal.  Simply lovely.  I have even put the dog ears away.  My ornament needs a bit of gold though.

And now:  all the clues together --

Oooooohhhh.  I love it.  A big shout out of thank yous to Allison and Jennifer for spending this wonderful day with me.  It simply could not have been better.  Also, thank you to Bonnie for giving us this wonderful gift each year.  Our lives are richer because of it.
