Allietare Clue #2 - Bonnie Hunter - Mystery Quilt

Friday is here again and so the clue must be there right?  I wake around 5 (why don't I do this normally?) and zip into the office, turn on the computer, and yeppers -- it's there.  A quick link post for the group and I crawl back into bed.  We were out late last night and this old gal needs just a wee bit more sleep.

Jennifer posted yesterday that she was looking for a sew mate today to work on the clue --- after a bit more sleep, I do some thinking, grab some fabric and machine and head out the door.  Leaving around 9:20, it takes me a little over an hour to get there.  Why oh why do you live so far my dear?  To read more about our day and see her cozy little studio click HERE.  Now, I must focus on the clue.  I brought black strips and neutral strips along with my grey and 20 different red scraps.  Well, I thought there were 20, but turns out I have 21 so 21 sets will be made.  It never hurts to have extra, right?

The reds are cut in no time and I am ready to start making the smaller cuts.  I LOVE both the Companion Angle and Easy Angle rulers.  I know I've said it before, but it holds true each time I use them.  The cutting just goes so fast and I soon have wonderful little piles of parts and pieces.  HAHAHA, sounds like a mechanic at work.  Ahhh, these colors just warm my heart right now.

Now, it's time to set up Annie.  She's my wonderful mocha 301A and since she was still in her travel case, she won the trip to Haslet.  This machine is the very first one my sweetheart gave me.  He surprised me on my birthday in 2014.  What a sweetheart she is.  Today, she zips through the right side of my "decapitated" geese and then the left just like that.  What a gem.

Ah, I see Nancy Drew peeking up at us.  Yes, there are some fun reds in here.  After placing my lovely chain on the back of my sweater for a picture, I realize AGAIN why Mister complains that I am always covered in threads when he takes me anywhere.  He now keeps a lint roller near the door and cleans me up before we leave.  Yes, I do love that man of mine.

Now to de-dog ear and add my bricks.  Hmmm, I didn't bring anything to  put the dog ears in and Jen is busy sewing away.  What can I use?  Oh, I know --- my eyeglass case.  Yep, It works perfect.

This clue is quick and easy and just what I needed today.  It provides a great opportunity to visit and share stories with Jennifer while we sew without feeling as though I HAVE to focus intensely on what I am doing.  Yes, the units are complete and ready to press.  Almost there.

Taking advantage of Jen's Featherweight table that is set up next to me, I have a lovely backdrop for my finished units.  I agree with everyone else.  They DO look like cute little Santa hats.  Of course, that just makes me love them even more.  See ya'll next week with another clue.  For now, keep on creating my friends.  Make your life just a little bit more beautiful with the wonders of fabric.  Ta-ta.

This is also part of the Monday Link-up with Bonnie Hunter.  To return to her page, please click HERE.  Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Love the idea of your Mister running a lint roller over you before you can leave the house. That's love!

    1. I'm not sure if it's love or sparing himself some embarrassment but either way, am glad he does it. Thank you for reading.
