Wichita Falls and the Texahoma Shophop

Yay!  Today finally got here.  I am so excited to be having a girls day and visiting a new part of Texas.  We have drove through  while on trips heading north or returning from said trips, but haven't stopped.  Here's how excited I am.  I wake at 5:30 without any alarm and decide to make fresh scones for Mister and the girls.  They are going in the oven when Mister wakes and we get to have a lovely breakfast of tea and scones before I drop him off at work, pick up Stephannie and head to Jennifer's to meet up with both Jennifers.  We get stuck in traffic and are a bit late so let's get this show on the road.

Jennifer M. is driving and Jennifer S. has put herself to work in the backseat with hexies.  I have graph paper and am hoping to work on blocks while we visit.  A couple of hours later, we are in Wichita Falls at the MPEC.  Look at the gorgeous flags out front.  Yes - the theme of the show is working around these and I'm looking forward to what is in store.  Time to shop.

We kind of split into pairs and since I am not really in search of anything special (just some things I need for retreat), I help Stephannie check things off on her list.

Each booth has hidden clues about the country it represents (remember the flags out front?) and we have a form to fill out for a prize.  Everyone loves a game right?

Jennifer M is telling me that they don't have any fabric in this picture.  Do I care?

There are door prizes being given away about every half hour and on the third group of numbers, Jennifer M. wins.  She literally takes off at a trot to see what the quilt fairies have bestowed upon her.

Variegated red and green cones of thread.  Perfect for that up and coming Christmas quilt.

We were stopped in front of the booth for the quilt shop that Fawn works at when we took the picture above.  Then the gals working the booth wanted one as well with their booth in the background so they could let us say howdy to Fawn.

Our bags are all full, most items have been found and purchased, and our bellies are complaining so it's lunch time.  With our treasures in tow, we leave the shop hop and drive a few blocks to the 8th Street Coffee House - we're trusting Stephannie and Siri here.

It is darling inside.  Plenty of tables and various sitting areas to enjoy conversation and a cup of coffee.  As we are in line to order, the drink of the week catches our eye.  Yep, interesting little spot we have found.

Good food (yes it is), good friends, and good conversation.  This is what will be remembered about today.  Oh yeah -- and perhaps some fun shopping as well.

We return home in time to meet the school bus and for me to pick up Mister from work.  What a great day and look at my lovely little treasures.  The Christmas fabric was INSIDE the water bottle.  What a great way to showcase something.  Eight 1/8ths for $8.88 at Fawn's shop.  I can't wait to put them into my blocks.  Thanks ladies for a super fun day.  I can't wait for the next chance to get together.  (Oh, and the scissors light up - too fun.)
