Chasing the Sun - Clue 4

Welcome to Clue 4.  Was it a long week for you?  Not me, I'm still soaking up every wonderful minute that this beach retreat can provide.  I know, I know -- stop bragging.  Okay.

Since I am still away, this clue is also fairly straight forward and easy.  Enjoy and REMEMBER TO READ ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM BEFORE CUTTING.   If going scrappy, don't forget to mix it up.

Yellow (color 2):  EVERYONE:  Subcut 60 - 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" bricks AND 60 - 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" bricks from your 1 1/2" strips.
Lavender (color 6):  EVERYONE:  Subcut 60 - 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" bricks AND 60 - 1 1/2" x 6 1/2" bricks from your 1 1/2" strips.
Purple (color 7):  IF DOING SCRAPPY: Cut 4 - 3 1/2" squares
Purple (color 7):  IF DOING CONSTANT:  Subcut 4 - 3 1/2" squares from your 3 1/2" strip.
Black (color 8):  EVERYONE: Subcut 4 - 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" bricks AND 4 - 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" bricks from your 1 1/2" strips

UNIT H (make 4):

Sew a 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" black brick to any side of the purple 3 1/2" square.  Press.

The unit should measure 3 1/2" x 4 1/2".

Place your unit with the black brick at the top.  ON THE LEFT SIDE; add the 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" black brick.

Your unit should now measure 4 1/2" square.

Get your UNIT A's (60) as we are going to add to them a bit.

Following the graph above, place the 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" yellow brick as so and stitch.  Repeat for all 60.

Press and check your measurements.  Unit A should now be 4 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Now sew the 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" yellow bricks to the remaining orange sides.  Press and check your measurements.  Your units should now be 5 1/2" square.

With the lavender strips, let's start this same process all over again with these units.

Once again following the graph above, sew the  1 1/2" x 5 1/2"  lavender bricks to Unit A on the bottom, directly below the shorter pink brick.

Press and measure.  Your unit should be 5 1/2 x 6 1/2".

Sew the 1 1/2" x 6 1/2" brick to the remaining pink side.

Press and check you final measurements for today.  Your unit should now measure 6 1/2" square.

Yes, I am directionally challenged with this next picture.  However, it is correct.

Well that's it for another week.  Here is a picture of what you should have finished this week.

What a wonderfully bright stack of units.  This is getting so exciting.

See ya next week.  I'll be home again and missing the beach.
