1st -  I am smack dab in the middle of two retreats and am fortunate enough to have my dear friend Allison spending these days with me.  Today is a play day -- I say that because we have hiked, talked, shared meals (including dinner at the river) and just loved life.  I do manage to work on my Double Delight a bit as I procrastinate on quilting Mister's koala throw.  For more about our wonderful days together, please feel free to click on this LINK.  Hint:  I do get the quilting done before crashing into a heap in my bed.

Double Delight - Clue 7 - Bonnie Hunter - Mystery Quilt

Borders and cornerstones are ready to attach.  I am one determined lady today.

I know I am ahead of the clues but with all the trips coming up, I didn't want this to get put on hold.  PLUS -- I simply cannot wait to see how this looks when complete.

Did I choose the right fabrics.  Do they play together well.

What do you think?  OMG -- I adore this one -- can't wait to get it quilted and will update this post when I do.

Double Delight - Clue 6 - Bonnie Hunter - Mystery Quilt

Crazy!!!!  My sweetie planned a day together for us and for some reason that was the only thing on my mind this morning and I totally forgot to post the clue.  Perhaps that is in part due to the fact that I kinda cheated and zoomed ahead on this one while at retreat.  I know, I know -- but, "Ma, everyone else was doing it."

Before I cut my setting triangles, while working on a top secret project from Ms. Bonnie Hunter, I made my Double Delight label as a leader/ender.  Paper pieced an entire 8 1/2 x 11" sheet out of the leftover strips.  There really weren't too many leftover parts on this quilt, were there?  Now to the design wall while everyone slumbers away.   YES!!  I like it.  This will go together quick and is destined to be a finish perhaps even this month depending on what happens in my life.

Brazos House Retreat - It's All About the Love

February 4th has arrived.  Oh my --- I have a mystery quilt laying all over the floor and need to get the setting finished before anyone arrives.  Time to sew, sew, sew.  Once I have that finished, folded and put away, I start gearing up for the arrival of my Valentine retreat group.  Yes, it seems like forever since we were together in November and this groups consists of a majority of our original group.  What fun we are going to have.

Jennifer M. has set up a meet up for lunch at Los Primos in Glen Rose before the retreat officially begins and so that is where our story starts as well.  Oh ladies -- your wonderful faces just make my heart swell.  How many times have we been together now?  Is this really only the 4th?  It seems like I have known you all for such a long time and I love that we are part of each other's life now.  Best friends have been made in this group -- lives have changed.

Double Delight - Clue 5 - Bonnie Hunter - Mystery Quilt

I am smack dab in the middle of the second weekend of retreat at Brazos and on track with these clues.  Woohoo!!!  It feels so good to be caught up again.

This week we are making block B and dang if it's not another nine patch made of nine patches.  Yep, I'm in heaven.  Can you see me smiling?  Let's start webbing these together.  I pulled in a fourth neutral for my larger squares -- sure hope it all plays well.

Ooooh - I likey.

What a quick and easy clue.  I don't know about everyone else, but I am dang excited to start putting this together.  Two clues to go and I think the hard part is behind us.  By hard, I simply mean square in a square over and over again.  BUT --- and that's a heavy but ---- I LOVE THEM.  See ya next week.

Time with Friends at Brazos - Between Retreats

The house is almost empty.  Yes, I am still at Brazos House and the first retreat ended this afternoon.  Ms. Allison has arrived to spend the "in-between" days with me before her own session starts on Thursday.  All I can say is thank you, thank you to Jerry for sharing her with me.  Tammy and Elisabeth have not left yet and both seem rather reluctant to do so.  It's totally understandable -- I never want to leave here either.  In face, when Debi K. left this afternoon -- it was the saddest face I have seen in a very long time.  I have a hunch she won't be gone long.

Allison gets set up and then decides to peek in on me and see what is up clear across the room.  Yes, we are creatures of habit and even though it will be just the two of us for a few days, we want our "spots".

It's time to sew for awhile and I am busy working on my sweethearts birthday present -- a koala quilt.

After some discussion and the enticement of a wool trunk show in town, we are off to see if I can find some supplies for the March retreat and take Allison to Babe's for the very first time.  Elisabeth stays behind alone at the house to try and finish her project.  She really wants it DONE before she leaves.
