Mugstateer Day

Once a month the Mugstateers meet for a morning of coffee and a day of friends and fun at Fabric Fanatics in Plano.  Today is the day for January.  I am stoked and super happy to be having a day out before I leave town on the 18th.  First up:  coffee at the 1418 Coffeehouse.  Allison found this place for us during our Judy Niemeyer classes last year and it has become a bit of a habit.

I arrive early but am soon joined by my fellow ladies.  Ah, best friends are something to treasure indeed.

After coffee, we all arrive at Fabric Fanatics and say a warm hello to Janet as she is part of the reason we do this.  She works once a month and we love to keep her company at the shop and get a few things done at the same time.  She has a TA-DA from a class she just finished to show us.  So much thread work and that scares the dickens out of me.

Of course, there is always the shopping part too.  I've had a bit of a rough week and Elisabeth turns it around with a gift of hunky fabric.  Yes, giggles and petting of the fabric ensued.  No, I won't name names.  Brenda stops by to pick up a project that Allison quilted and just stays.  It's so great to just visit and work.

I'm working on the sewing mats, trying to get them cut out today.  We have surprise gifts from December to use today and mine is a free fat quarter which will become the binding on one of the mats.

Once all the parts are cut out, it's lunch time.  Off to the mexican restaurant around the corner we go.  Lunch means visiting and having relaxing time together.  Right?  As we finish, Brenda's time with us has come to an end and we have to say good-bye.  Dang it anyway.

Now's the time to start kitting up woolies for the February retreat.  I have brought several selections of the donated wool to show everyone and get ideas on color selections.  Once those are made, it's time to cut and draw.  And draw.  And draw.

Five o'clock comes around soooooo fast.  Allison and I are packed up and heading out the door.  The two Elis(z)abeth's are STILL shopping (not to say too loud, but that is pretty much what they have done today) and we give quick hugs till next month.  Dang, that seems like forever.  Now, home to Mister.

When I arrive at the house, there is chaos everywhere.  Mister has been busy for sure.  He has emptied out the office onto both beds and moved the armoire out as well.  It is now sitting in the master bedroom -- wow.  What a mess.

Where is he?  Well - attempting to put together his new Skandia desk.  Yep, that's my desk sitting out in the middle of the room.  Hmmm.

Well --- I guess I'd best help him if I wish to sleep tonight.
