It's a beautiful day in Hamilton, Missouri. We have had breakfast and are heading off to start the Scavenger Hunt. I've forgotten my lanyard and make a quick return to the center before catching up. Along the walk --- these are soooo pretty.
Now, back to the girls.
As we make our rounds through the stores - this window of the yarn shop looks amazing.
At each store, I do a little asking for Chucks and my dreams are met over and over again. This is just so much fun.
I still think the Fabric Market is WONDERFUL and find this years t'shirt purchase.
In one of the stores --- these stirrers almost go home with me. Mister would get a kick out of them.
I do find ornaments for this year's exchange. Super cute.
The required proof that Jen and I are here.
All four of us ---
This years Scavenger Hunt treasures:

The retreat is officially underway - dinner has been served -- and we are awaiting tonight's presentation by Natalie and Misty.
That's us - down in the second row.
They are showing the triple plays from 2023 and I've only grabbed a few pictures to share. First up is January 2024 - Misty's Half-Square Triangle Blooms
February 2024 - Natalie's Drunkard's Path Pinwheels
The girls doing their thing.
March 2024 - Misty's Periwimkle Squared
May 2024 - Misty's Kaleidoscope Squares
June 2024 - Natalie's Happy Houses
June 2024 - Misty's Galway Bay - I'm going to get this pattern and use my Nantucket Summer that is ordered for it - just need some brown for the boats.
July 2024 - Misty's Winter Trees
August 2024 - Jenny's Harvest Stars
August 2024 - Misty's Sunny Days - another pattern I wish to have
September 2024 - Misty's Midsummer Skies
Sharing information about tomorrow's class.
This is what is in our kits: Sweet Violet is the pattern - Kaffe are the prints.
The wonderful backing. That's it for tonight --- we start classes tomorrow morning.
23rd - Good Morning!! I'm up early enough to meet Gwen outside for a cup of Joe and some one-on-one time.
After breakfast, we go into the theater for today's class.
They are both great teachers and so funny to be around.
Out kits are given out and it's time to return to the center. First, though, is a quick dash to the Floral shop to get some backing for this.
Our gift today is 15 of the patterns they shared today. How wonderful! It doesn't have two that I want, so I'm picking those up later.
We get a surprise visit during lunch - Dee Bushrod shared her Queen Elizabeth Pixel quilt that hung in Buckingham Palace for the Platinum Jubilee.
After lunch - we're told there is another surprise in the theater and move there. Natalie and Misty are filming a Tuesday Newsday and we have fun just watching. They make it look so easy. Here is a link to the actual video and if you look close - we popped into the back row and are shown at the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wijgwAgWHp0&list=PLkXp95fsrJhcxuuHEbpbtVGAb_Of1IOUi&index=4 (You'll need to copy/paste that - I'm sorry, couldn't get it to hyperlink)
When they are finished, they show us the finished quilt for the exclusive Doan Girls Retreat pattern we received on the Scavenger Hunt. I have some gorgeous pastel batiks that need a project. I think this wins. It is called Woven Beauty.
Next - we get a video call with Jenny and are able to ask lots of questions - so fun.
A little shopping before heading back to sew. I REALLY like this but don't like the price. Will hunt.
Our evening activity is BINGO and I have card after card with no dots or very few dots. It actually gets quite comical.
Yet, somehow, it all comes together on the final blackout and I win. So crazy.
We have also been given a fabric bundle, a bag, charm pack, notebook and pen today. Goodness.
Cindy with her block TA-DA from today. Yep, I'm posting all three pics.
My block TA-DA as well. I have also managed to get the whole quilt cut out. It was a good day, but I'm beat.
24th - It's off to another day of fun. Breakfast and then class in the theater. Today it is Briar Patch and we'll be working with batiks.
Out kits -
After class, it's a quick trip to the Batik store for a baking that will work.
Then back to sew and cut and cut and cut. I do get the second kit totally cut. While Natalie and Misty are here to teach, I have a chance for a couple of photos.
We are gifted a special Chuck and I add this to my collection that I've gathered here. I think I managed to gain about 8-10 new ones for the collection and am only short a couple. So fun. Chuck also came with a fat quarter bundle.
Today's block is TA-DONE
Cindy has a pillowcase TA-DA for the service project.
Gwen and I decide to go for a quick beer to reduce her stress.
Which turns into two old ladies running down the street in pouring rain. Fun times. This is SUCH a great story, but one that needs to be told in person. Ka-boom!! Thank you, Jen, for the umbrella drop after many more crazy experiences took place.
Psst - this is after my "please find a potty adventure."
After dinner, Misty and Natalie stop by for farewells and picture taking opportunities.
They are as gracious as always and we never leave here without having our spirits lifted.
Now - some serious sewing needs to happen before I pack up. It does. All my first steps are finished.
Jen also has her TA-DA on her top from last years trip here.
Group picture time!!
With that - we start the pack-up process. It's hard to leave already, but our time is over. Next two pictures are the gifts we received while here and my-in-store purchases (first and not including Scavenger Hunt, shirt, or ornaments). Purchases include two backings, a couple of patterns, some striped fabric for binding on last years project, binder pages, 1 1/2" square ruler, and two rotary cutters that were the Daily Deal. I feel like I did really well this year. I'm going to finish packing and call it a night.
