1st - I am going to have a hard time being creative about my day today. ALL day was spent on bookwork, blog posts, etc. To top off the mundane -- I went grocery shopping. Wowser what a left brain day. Perhaps tomorrow I can let the right side play a little too.
2nd - It's a play day!!!! I love Fridays for two reasons. First, I get the car. Yes -- that is truly fun stuff for me. But today, the second reason is waaaay better. Lunch with the girls!! Shopping!! To read all about our simply marvelous day, please click on this

First - some BEFORE pictures! Those are always good since they show progress when all is finished. Yes, I have truly buried sweet Annie, my vintage 301a mocha longbed. She's in there somewhere. This picture doesn't even really show that where the chair goes, more stuff is piled.
Once a month the Mugstateers meet for a morning of coffee and a day of friends and fun at Fabric Fanatics in Plano. Today is the day for January. I am stoked and super happy to be having a day out before I leave town on the 18th. First up: coffee at the 1418 Coffeehouse. Allison found this place for us during our Judy Niemeyer classes last year and it has become a bit of a habit.
It's a Mad City Mama sew day!!! Several of us talked about doing this while at class the beginning of the month and today is the day. Yep -- our numbers have grown and there will be FIVE of us in my tiny living room. We can DO it. First things first -- take down all Christmas decorations. Check. Rearrange furniture. Check. Have Allison bring an extra table. Check. I think we are ready to go.

We are both moving into quilt mode around here. We have books, magazines, new sewing machines, and fabric everywhere! Mister has been building my new quilt frame this week and as I was sewing in the studio, he was working away in the yard. I did hear a few words that I won't print here, but he kept after it and the finished project is awesome.
Next, we had to completely rearrange the den to fit the frame in the house -- yep, that bugger is long. Once we had it in the house, it was time to learn how to put a quilt on. Fortunately, I had finished a top and it was ready to go on the frame. After many tries and a small temper flare-up by me, we got it. Once again, it will go much quicker the next time. Now to start poking holes in my fingers.
