Day 3 of our Missouri trip starts with the group preparing for a Scavenger Hunt through the Missouri Star Quilt Company shops. We left the Hotel Hamilton a bit early, so the streets are empty enough for some pictures.
This super HUGE set of knitting needles in the yarn shop is pretty cool.
We stopped at the Licensed shop and noticed that we are not in Texas anymore. So different from home.
Our bags are full and we're ready for food, but first we'll stop at the retreat center and drop these bags.
Magically, EVERYONE was together at the retreat center and we grabbed a quick pic. Only, AFTER we dispersed did I find out that Frieda had gone inside. Drat. We tried.
We are awake, up, showered, dressed, and meeting up downstairs to make it out to the Hotel Hamilton by 7:30 for breakfast. Keith, the major of Hamilton is downstairs running the shuttle for any who need it, and after a bit of a chat, we are out of here. Breakfast is this great little egg and canadian bacon dish that we can make at retreat also. Loved it. At our tables is also a nice gift. There are FIFTEEN patterns in this little packet and many of them are the ones shown last night. How cool is that? Some are duplicates for me, so that means door prizes in an upcoming retreat. Lucky someone. Now, it's time for class and we are starting with Block Star. The fabrics have been deliver to each station and I LOVE them. Lori Holt Calico is the line and this is going to be so cute. It's time to learn something new.
With the lesson done, we get busy and Jenny makes the rounds chatting with everyone in the room.Just before lunch, a second gift arrives. Two beautiful fat quarters. Love them both.
I'm up front eating lunch and notice that someone is sitting at my machine. My 301 has definitely caught her attention. She is full of questions and I can tell she wants one.
After lunch, our second class begins. Natalie is teaching the Connected Hearts Table Runner.
Jenny and Ron arrive and walk straight towards me. She wants him to see my machine and learn all about it.
Group pictures from the first two classes --- I managed to get blocks to share of each project.
And the evening trunk show begins. Tonight, The Doan Girls are sharing some of their personal favorite quilts. Many have memories attached, but all are beautiful. Enjoy the eye candy.
