The 20's are Roaring Again and are you joining in with our own group ROAR? I posted all the details in a separate post and here is the Theme LINK to get the details if you want to join in.
If you are new to the blog, you may be asking, "just what is a monthly update?" I decided long ago that I just can't keep up with blogging daily. I just can't. Sooooo, what happens is I document a day in my life within one post and if something special happens, a separate post takes place. See, you can stay caught up with a once a month check and then, if you're interested, see the other posts too. It's a great system for me.
In years past, I have set goals for each month and I will continue to do that simply to keep myself on track. I AM still in UFO mode around here and trying oh so hard to use or clean out the stash. It will be an ongoing project this year. If I want something to come in -- something has to go out. That is one goal. The balances change each month (hopefully) and will always show up at the bottom of the update if you read that far - and they are joined by links to the previous monthly updates for the year.
Now, grab a cuppa and sit back for a fun read and perhaps a new idea or two. (P.S. I format on a computer, so if you are reading on a phone, well sometimes the pictures will be before or after the story. It is what it is.)
So ---- here's February and all the wonderful fun it provided. Please remember that any links in here will open in a separate window so that you can keep your place on this page at the same time and there are no ads of popups EVER.
1st - It's a beautiful day here in the Salt Lake Valley - yes - I'm still in Utah.
Another month has begun and I'm ready. Are you? We have so much fun ahead this month and some of it begins today. The Talking Turkey Quilt-A-Long (QAL) has begun and our first step will be worked on by so many today. It is also the release of our second block in the Witch's Night Out QAL. Remember, I did all of this ahead last month since I'm still in Utah, so no pics of my work today but others are posting like crazy.

Antiquing to Sherman and Back
It's Mister's birthday and we are driving north towards McKinney, to start. Parking on the square, antiquing is something he dearly loves and one store draws us in right away. As we wander around, I see these little peddle carriages for children. How fun! It would be grand to restore one of these and gift BUT kids just don't play outside anymore.

Brazos House Retreat - Red, White, and Blue
Retreat season for 2020 has officially begun!!! Even though I've only had one day at home, I am excited to see the Quilt Sisters again. I know that the weekend will revive me and adjust any attitude issues I may have. When I arrive at the center, Val is in full swing and has almost everything set up. I simply am so indebted to her --- forever. As the place fills, my belly starts to growl. I left home without breakfast and by now (12:30), I am starving. Time to head to Babes. We have a full table today and I love that so much. I also love the chicken. What can I say?
Ana has found a delightful gift for me. Oooooh, I will open and share a few and then take them home to my sweetie and somehow manage to save a can for the memory shelf.

January 2020 Quilt Update
The 20's are Roaring Again. Shall we join in? What would that mean? Well, for one thing, it was a time of great changes. Let's start there. Make some changes. I posted all the details in a separate post and here is the Theme LINK to get the details if you want to join in. If you read December's post, you know that on the last day, I shared the new theme. I did that because this post comes out after the month is over and what good does that do? So, each month, on the last day, I will share the next month's fun. It will help me to make a change I've been wanting for awhile and that is to stay current on this and post right on time. Fingers crossed that this helps.

Frolic - Clue 8 - Bonnie Hunter - Mystery Quilt

Friday is Smile Day!!! I woke at 6:00 and started hitting refresh at 6:15. Oh my. An hour later, the clue finally popped up. Did I waste that time? Nope, in between the refreshes, I was editing pictures for another post. And writing. The eternal writing. Ah, I digress. The Clue is here!!! AND it's wonderful. No cutting, just putting pieces together that we already have. I LOVE it.In mere minutes from posting --- seriously, I think 15 is putting it high -- I have Part A on the machine cabinet and Part B finished and back on the tray. My brain feels that if I move those out of the way first, I'll have less chance of a repeat from last week. See, I can be taught.

Frolic - Clue 7 - Bonnie Hunter - Mystery Quilt

I slept past 6 on a clue day! I need to say that louder: I SLEPT PAST 6 ON A CLUE DAY! That is unheard of in my world, but it did happen. The thing is - once up, I was on it. I read and re-read the clue before starting to cut. Guess what, I STILL struggled with the cutting until I figured out that I could cut as normal if I just made sure the blue was on top. The problem is that somehow my brain didn't accept that and occasionally put the raspberry on top. THEN a lightbulb moment!!! The ones I had accidentally cut backwards could be the HST's. From then on, I was golden but it still took me over two hours to get this clue cut. Whew. Seriously, I didn't enjoy that even one bit and I love cutting with my Easy Angle Ruler.
