Our theme this year, CHAOS TO CONTENTMENT!!! I don't know about anyone else, but I have lost my way lately. No drive, no ambition, no love of what I'm doing. I "think" it has to do with being in a constant state of OVERWHELM! I have not managed time well and wind up with crunch projects -which are never fun. I've packed my list of "want to accomplish this month" so full that when surprises pop up that are either fun or an emotional wipeout - there is no chance of completion and then a sense of failure sets in. Ugh. After much thought on this and a great deal of chatting with the lady in the mirror - I've come up with this theme for 2025. If you didn't get a chance to check out the post explaining it all --- here is the LINK to the initial post. I'm looking forward to the direction this can take us all, but especially myself, if I give it a fair shot. Sometimes stepping out of comfort zones is challenging, but it almost always allows for growth. Welcome to June and by the end of the month - we are halfway through out Chaos to Contentment year. Are you making progress? This may be a TMI post, but I'm struggling. I haven't picked up a needle or piece of fabric since the beginning of April (well, unless it was to sell and ship it) and barely functioning describes my existence. I knew this was going to be a challenging year, but . . . Inner strength and resolve are sometimes hard to find. I'm still going at it --- things are coming to a head on many fronts in our family and there is beginning to be light at the end of the tunnels. Yep - those babies are plural. Do what you need to take care of you -- it's important.
Now, if you are new to this blog, you may be asking, "just what is a monthly update?" I decided long ago that I just can't keep up with blogging daily. I just can't. Sooooo, what happens is I document each day in my life within one post and if something special happens, a separate post takes place. See, you can stay caught up with a once a month check and then, if you're interested, see the other posts too. It's a great system for me. There will be links throughout this update that go to related posts of MINE. They will open in a new window so that you can keep your place here. Just click on the hyper-links if you wish. There are NO ADS. Never have had them, don't intend to start unless my whole world gets turned upside down.
In years past, I have set goals for each month that I NEVER was able to reach. However, I NEED that guideline to follow, so I will continue to do that simply to keep myself on track. UFO mode is still a part of my life and I have set a definite budget for fabric in order to not create more things sitting around for "someday." The "hopeful attempts" will change each month and will always show up at the bottom of the update if you read that far - and they are joined by links to the previous monthly updates for the year.
Now, grab a cuppa and sit back for a fun read and perhaps a new idea or two. (P.S. I format on a computer, so if you are reading on a phone, well sometimes the pictures will be before or after the story. It is what it is.
1st - My color picture for today - Apparently I LOVE every month.

This month's UFO is #12 and if there was a chance of me accomplishing anything, it would be Rachels Sewing Room for me. I don't see it happening as crazy is still our daily life.
We did make a return trip to Costco and changed our phone plan and ordered new phones. This should be fun.
2nd -I am still deep in couching. Yep, and I'm getting to be an expert in it. At some point the phone calls will stop and everyone will be more centered in their lives, just not yet. It's best to just hide still. I've been binging shows for quite some time --- not sure if it has worn off yet. It's a checkout from reality for me.
3rd - More of the same. These are rough months right now.
4th - So - perhaps my television is trying to tell me something. Hey, I took a picture - that's something new.
5th - Worthless once again. I don't even have a "hey, I did laundry." Ugh.
6th - I did get it together enough today to ship Cassie her new phone and Ophelia's partial birthday gift. Mister brought me a drink, which prompted a picture. Hey, it's better than nothing.
7th - Okay - we are out and about. I think I'm starting to worry my sweetheart. Here is a
LINK to our adventures for the day.
8th - Back to the couch.
9th - OKAAAAY - this is new and so far from fact that I'm actually laughing.
10th - I am gearing up for our Utah trip - mentally - no actual movement going on here.
11th - I did it!! I finished the entire Yellowstone series. I had never watched it and fell in deep. Now that's over, perhaps I can move on with life.
12th - Packing and prepping for our trip. Bills are paid, laundry is done, house is ready for us to be away.
13th - Last minute decisions, everything like that. I know I've said I haven't done much the last two weeks, but there was booking flights, getting rooms, buying and sending gifts, answering calls, helping get a place leased, etc. Daily items that just seem to fill the time and are oh so boring to write about. This, too, shall pass.
14th - We are off to Utah , land and lunch out with my sweetie happens. Then we are off Cass's for O's party. Here is a
LINK sharing all that happens while here.
15th - Today is IKEA and Costco runs Amanda/boys are driving in and and Jen/boys are flying in. All arrive this evening and will be here first thing tomorrow. We did IKEA first, then delivered items to the new house and followed up with two carts at Costco.
Mister and I are beat and head out for dinner, which I didn't eat much of. Not feeling top notch
16th - I am soooo sick --- everyone else is moving Cass, who is also sick.
17th - Weak, but off to help with last load from house. The washer dryer that I found on Marketplace arrive thanks to Ross and we make a second trip to IKEA. I am going to power through these next few days, no matter the consequences.
Lots of big boys helping and needing to be fed.
18th - Family breakfast before many depart back to their homes.
Mister is dropped off at airport. Back at the house, I have a VERY annoying phone call with ATT (this is another thing that has been happening all month and I haven't talked about. EVERY single day we are on the phone with them for over an hour. Worst decision ever to move from Verizon.) Mister's flight is so messed up so I go pick him back up and we do the crazy race to SLC to get him on the same flight as Jen. He winds up losing his drills in the process. Ugh.
19th - We went to Target for another shelf and ordered a desk. Back to Costco - where I ordered O's phone and it's another ATT nightmare. I'm sooooo frustrated. When we get back, an ER visit takes place with a cut head. Can this day stop, please?
20th - I got online last night and ordered corner protectors, which arrived early this morning and have now been installed.
Cass and I the shelf for the office area and put it together - house is almost finished.
Time to relax a bit so we take the kids swimming.
21st - It's my turn to depart --- saying good-bye is never easy.
22nd - Amanda asked me to do wedding table place names. This is her idea and she is sending all the parts.
23rd - And I'm down for the count. I knew this would happen. Powering through worked, but kicked my butt AND to top everything off, my insides are so bruised from my bathroom adventure that I can barely breathe without pain. This is going to be a very tough week, having had the inside muscle bruising before. Argh.
24th - Just down, down, down. Pain, pain, pain. Also, not very strong - did too much - didn't take care of me. Was a Mom.
25th - Nothing new here -- so icky not even watching shows. Just laying and not moving.
26th - Ditto from yesterday.
27th - We have to turn our phones in today so they are being wiped and I'm taking them to be returned. Yep - major effort on my part to leave the house.
As I'm leaving to drop off the phones, I notice how absolutely beautiful our street is. The crepe myrtles are sublime this year. The whites are in front of my house and completely obliterate the view. I LOVE it.
I'm feeling much better, but still get weak quick. That was enough adventure for today.
28th - I think I'm ready to leave the house today -- we decide to visit the DMA and here is the
LINK to two exhibits that we enjoyed.
29th - I'm going to use the last couple of days to make sure I'm back to being somewhat healthy and as I'm still battling depression at the same time, it's kind a slow day.
30th - We've reached the end of a very difficult month. I'm so hopeful that we can put some of the anxiety behind us in the coming months, but there is still a lot happening. I'd love to eliminate the chaos, but . . . . Obviously, nothing was accomplished in the creativity realm, but we knew this year would be tough - just had no idea how tough and really don't need more medical at the same time.
Six months down and six to go -- is it helping? There are days when I think I invited even more chaos into my life with this theme. Please tell me it was on the horizon already and I didn't do this to myself. At any rate ---- push on, y'all.
Thank you for reading this far. If you made it here, kudos to you. Hope you have a great month and find a way to bring joy into your life. Stay creative Y'all.
I've tried to make a COMPLETE list here so that I have only one place to look it all up. I apologize in advance for the boring nature of this to y'all, but it helps me. I've made quite a few category changes this year - anything to help stay on top of things.
