1/13 It's out, It's out! AND it's beautiful. OMG. I am in love. I knew I was happy with the way the colors were going, but the sashings are amazing and the little tips on the setting triangles just make my heart sing.
With that said, it's complicated. Seriously. I am so glad that Bonnie is holding off on the final link-up until February 1st as I just know this will take me all of that (and then perhaps some more too).
Out to the studio I go ----- sew, sew, sew.
It doesn't take very long and I soon have a lovely heap of coral and white. Simply gorgeous.

January 2018 Quilt Update
Welcome to the Monthly Update. What does that mean? Well, it's just little ol me trying to recap what took place during the month so that I can keep track. I kind of use it like a journal. Please sit back and enjoy a peek into a month of my life.
Any links that you click in this post will open in a DIFFERENT window, allowing you to continue reading this without losing the page.
So . . . . If you have followed me in the past, you know that I have set CRAZY goals each month and it's tough when they just don't happen. I think goals are wonderful - believe me, without them I fear my lack of movement. The thing is -- I just don't want another year of unattainable goals making me feel stressed. I have a busy year ahead with lots of surprises, family happenings, and retreats. Those items alone give me PLENTY of deadlines to deal with. As a result, I am introducing the new goal section - hahahaha, its' the same, only reasonable and more defined. I also want to keep the variety in life going - this will reflect that. Let's hit the ground running . . . or not. How about a hot drink and a good read? See, life is good.
We don't have any previous 2018 monthly update links but when we do, they will be located at the end of this entry. I hope that you make it that far.
Oh, I moved all the goals to the bottom of the entry. It makes more sense and that way, you'll either have to cheat and peek ahead of time or just read and see how it goes. I'm hoping for the latter.
1st - It's New Years Day and with that I would like to wish every person reading this a Wonderful New Year. I truly hope it is filled with incredible experiences and that you enjoy each moment. I certainly intend to. Intend. Now that's an interesting word isn't it? Isn't there something about the road to Hell and all that? Well, I do INTEND to enjoy each moment. To use the minutes that we are given and not just throw them by the wayside. To fill my life with laughter, fun, and a sense of accomplishment. To that end, I will be battling UFOS!!!! That's right. I AM going to reduce the stack. I am not silly enough to believe that I can eliminate it in one year, but a small dent would be pleasing. The best I can offer to go with that is not to add to the stack. Therefore, if something is begun --- it will be finished. No new UFOS.

Treasure Hunting w/Mister
Aren't weekends just the best? I love time with my sweetheart and don't really care what form it takes. Today, after helping his mom for awhile, we find time for an antique stop. I wonder what treasures await. Let's go see.
Oh wow --- first thing I spot is a Frister and Rossman handcrank. The booth is having a 50% off sale. Do I or don't I? All the parts are there and the wheel moves so nice. I let it pass, but it's hard.

Warehouse Tour Guide
A couple of days ago I offered to be a Harry Hines tour guide for a group of wonderful ladies who have not been there before. They took me up on the offer and after a wonderful breakfast chatting about our lives at Mama's Daughter's Diner, we are on our way.
Perth and Harry Hines is first up. I plan to go to C & C first but neither they nor Super Textiles are open. Hmmm. I had been told that C&C had moved and the warehouse is for lease but there are not any signs indicating where they went. Oh well, moving on --- into Wherehouse Fabrics we go. When I am in the mood to buy --- this place is just so fun. We have found the coolest backs among these tables. Normally I crop the tops off of these pictures, but I want you to see just how big the place is.

Antiquing A Bit
We have been holed up in the house forever it seems. I know, it's by choice but a wee bit of getting out might be nice. We'll just be careful so that my sweetie doesn't have a relapse. Yes, he is STILL coughing - since Christmas. ugh.
First stop is Half Price Books where a lovely little coffee/pastry shop resides inside. Black Forest Coffee is part of Henk's European Deli and Black Forest Bakery, which reside behind Half Price Books. If you like German food, you'd love them. Once our sweet treat and drink are finished, we make a stop at Home Depot for some bird seed to keep our feathered friends happy. They start staring in the windows at us when it is out. No joke.
Once our assigned errand is finished, we both come to the conclusion that it has been awhile since setting foot in an antique shop of any kind. That needs to be remedied and right now. City View Antique Mall is just down the street and a great place to begin. We are only there a few minutes a I spot this case under a table. Ooooooh. The tag says $65.00 and I'm even more excited. Then I pull out the case and although it is in remarkable condition, it is empty. Just the case for that price and, again, it is in great shape and if you need one -- well here ya go.

On Ringo Lake - Clue 8 - Bonnie Hunter - Mystery Quilt
12/31 Why am I up so early on the morning of New Year's Eve? Do you know? Well, of course you do if you have been following me or Bonnie Hunter's Mystery. We are in the midst of rapid fire clues and I have my fingers crossed for another easy one today so that I can stay caught up. My time over the next couple of weeks will be stretched super far --- okay, let's peek.
BLOCKS!!! Well not super easy but definitely fun. Wait -- how many did it say? OMG. Well, let's see how many I can complete in today's hour.
But first . . . . . I must lay out a block to get a peek. Ooooh, I like it.

Waco One-Stop Shop Hop
Howdy!!! Happy New Year!!! I've been home with my sweetie enjoying the time together and working on a new project. Oh gosh, come clean girl. My sweetheart has been working from home sick since the beginning of the year - no real fun there - and my new project is scaring the you know what's out of me. That's right -- the bejeebers. Did you think something else was departing from me? At any rate, MONTHS ago, I marked the date for the Waco Shop Hop as we all need a little gal time in January. It turned out that Val needed to come this way to pick up a machine AND when mentioning this shop hop, Sharron agreed to tag along and the party had begun. So from Houston, Spring, Athens, Mineola, McKinney, and Dallas our merry band is gathering in Waco. Come along to peek on our fun.
Food!!! Every good event has to include food of some sort. Right? Upon arrival in Waco - yes we synchronized our watches -- breakfast is first on the agenda. What an amazing time. It's as though we were just together yesterday -- truly like family. Conversations, laughter, love and the comment, "I would have drove here just for breakfast with ya'll" warm our hearts and set the tone for the day.
