The 20's are Roaring Again and are you joining in with our own group ROAR? I posted all the details in a separate post and here is the Theme LINK to get the details if you want to join in.
If you are new to the blog, you may be asking, "just what is a monthly update?" I decided long ago that I just can't keep up with blogging daily. I just can't. Sooooo, what happens is I document a day in my life within one post and if something special happens, a separate post takes place. See, you can stay caught up with a once a month check and then, if you're interested, see the other posts too. It's a great system for me.
In years past, I have set goals for each month and I will continue to do that simply to keep myself on track. I AM still in UFO mode around here and trying oh so hard to use or clean out the stash. It will be an ongoing project this year. If I want something to come in -- something has to go out. That is one goal. The balances change each month (hopefully) and will always show up at the bottom of the update if you read that far - and they are joined by links to the previous monthly updates for the year.
Now, grab a cuppa and sit back for a fun read and perhaps a new idea or two. (P.S. I format on a computer, so if you are reading on a phone, well sometimes the pictures will be before or after the story. It is what it is.)

Frolic - Clue 9 - Bonnie Hunter - Mystery Quilt
Well, it's here!!! Clue 9 and the reveal are posted. So, so much still to go and it will definitely take a second reading to get it all straight in my mind. I definitely won't be making much headway on this clue today, but . . . . there is still half of a month left. Well, almost. I have 10 days before I travel. Today, however, I CAN cut.
It is Friday, January 17th and I feel a bit overwhelmed with this one. I feel like it is similar to the eating an elephant thing --- one bite at a time. For today, neutrals and some little blue squares need to be cut. I CAN do that.

Unity Quilt-A-Long - Bonnie Hunter Mystery - Week 5
Unity - According to the Oxford Dictionary, this means "the state of being united or joined as a whole." I've thought about this a lot this week as I try to determine if this project is to unite us, the makers, or the quilt itself - i.e. the pieces. Perhaps it is a little of both and I hope that is what comes from it.
At any rate, it's Monday and once again I am cutting up units from my Scrap User's System. I am super happy as the only time I touch anything larger than a strip is for my outside border pieces and that is a fat quarter.
While cutting, Mister comes out to ask what I'm doing and my reply is, "My Monday fabric cutting - every Monday." He responded with, "I wish that's what I could do on Mondays -- cut fabric." He was then informed that I would store that in my memory banks for when he retires and he is welcome to all the cutting on Mondays. I'll even make sure to time it so that there is a nice stack each time. I even told him he was going to learn to sew and run the long arm. He left the room at that point and went back to work in the office. Did that mean he wasn't as thrilled with the prospects as I was? Hmmmm.

Unity Quilt-A-Long - Bonnie Hunter Mystery - Week 4
I woke before the clue this morning. I know, right? Like that NEVER happens. The big change this time? I didn't sit and hit refresh a hundred times. I had started a backing yesterday and wanted it finished so that I could load the quilt into the long arm and, thus, the time passed quick.
The clue posted. I pulled the stacks of fabric to the cutting area and went back to my backing. By 11 in the morning I was ready to begin. By 2:30, I was cut. What the heck happened? Did I get caught up in the show I was binge watching? I have no idea but it certainly was a slow cut and my oomph (sp?) was gone. I went out to load my other quilt and then called it a day. Yep - my get up and go had got up and gone. Tomorrow is another day.
And indeed it is --- Good Morning. I want to title this entry "All in a Day's Work" for that it what happened, but I'm getting ahead of myself. How did it all play out? I am really full of questions right now. Hmmmmn. Perhaps this quarantine is really getting to me and I NEED someone to talk to. I guess that's you.

Unity Quilt-A-Long - Bonnie Hunter Mystery - Week 3
Monday brings another segment to our Unity medallion quilt that Bonnie Hunter has created for the world to enjoy. This week, I'm not as distracted and able to quickly search out the parts and pieces that I need from my Scrap User's System. It is just so helpful to have the strips already cut. There are enough small pieces to worry about and although I woke early and got a very good start, it still takes me until noon to have all the stars cut and unique. Goodness but that is a lot of different fabrics.

Unity Quilt-A-Long - Bonnie Hunter Mystery - Week 2
Borders! Borders! Borders! I do enjoy adding borders but so many I know don't. If that is you, then this quilt is likely pushing you a bit. A medallion quilt typically is round after round after round, although not always. I have designed a few that didn't work that way, but for the most part -- welcome to borders!
4/6 - This is week 2 of the Bonnie Hunter Unity Quilt-A-Long. I have a bit on my plate today with mask making for my very large family, but do manage to get the pieces cut out. I am SO crazy thankful for the Scrap Users System that I have in place. I really only had to cut the triangles from strips already on hand. That makes life so much easier.
