July BEE Retreats

The summer retreats are here and I am super excited.  It's been seven weeks of family, which I loved, but I'm ready for friend time.  Off I go.

Well, believe it or not, I have MUCH MORE than that.  The car is full to the brim.  Fingers crossed it is not as full when I return home.

My two cohorts met a little early for coffee and are patiently waiting for me to arrive.

Upon our arrival --- it's time to get set up and the decorations are beautiful.  Take a peek.  So, I want you to know that the blog post only contains the highlights - so many more pictures are taken and shared amongst those who attended.  I couldn't possibly put everything in here.

Bees, bees, everywhere.

The house has filled up and the sounds are just so heartwarming.  Frieda gets us going with a show and share TA-DONE.

Door Signs - Stephannie always does such a great job on these.

Ramona just sits down and somehow gets a TA-DA right away.  How does she do that?

End of first day.  What a great time!  Yep, I'm aleady in jammies and ready for bed.

7/12 - Day two and Ramona has another TA-DA

More TA-DA's - Cindy with a Mia Bag, Stephannie with a cross stitch pillow, and Debi with her first Sophie-Claire block - which is her VERY FIRST time paper-piecing.

I feel like Cinderella singing, "In my own little corner, in my own little world . . "

Another day filled with fun comes to an end.  Yep, I didn't make it tonight.  So, so tired.

7/13 - Day three and when I get up there is wonderful things happening in the hen den.  "What?," you may ask.  Just great conversation and time together.  THIS is what retreat is all about.

Tonia has a TA-DA

As does Frieda - yep we are working on the same quilt and she is ahead of me.

Game time is always a highlight and this one definitely is one for the books.

I am so blessed to hang with women who also love to play and dress for the occasion.  Ramona and Linda.

Barbara and Jo

Frieda and Linda

Tonia, Gwen, Ramona, Stephannie

Sephannie, Debi, Rayleen (or Melissa - I never know)

Cindy, Kay, and Sandra (three sisters)

Just a peek into our games.  Or two.  Or three.

Winners are:  Tonia and Cindy.

It is Gwen's 69th birthday!!!!  Time to celebrate.

Door prizes going out - Tonia and Kay each take one home.

As does Linda.

Night time SHEnanigans.  Yep - worth three pictures to get the perspectives.

7/14 - Day 4 and everyone is at the breakfast table so . .

that means the work room is empty - full of stuff, but empty.

Barbara with a Show and Share - "what happens at retreat stays at retreat."

Tonia with a TA-DA

Cindy's TA-DA

And our last night of session 1 - man these go quick.

7/15 - Day 5 and it is departure morning for the first group and I spot this on Rayleen's table.  It's definitely a TA-DA

With a slight break ahead of me, I get a couple of my own TA-DA's finished up.  This is Ruby Jubilee.

And this is my Designer Mystery 2023 from Fat Quarter Shop.

7/16 -- Day 6 dawns.  We used to have several days of Tweener Time, but now it's basically one re-vamp day.  Time to do laundry, change beds, clean bathrooms, and reset for the next group.  However, there is some time to sew as well.  I finished up all the labels and binding parts for my two tops.  The firs tone has a backing already, so now I need to piece the other one.

Then - pamper time.

My tray.

Gwennie is doing a manicure.

The rest of us are pedicure bound and drinks are on the house.

Debi received a mani-pedi.  She's really being pampered.

All the pretty ladies are going out to night.  One of these is not like the others.

Dinner at Pastafina's.

7/17 - Round 2 begins this morning.  Two rooms stayed the same but here are the other door tags.

My corner changed a little bit - moving through the projects.

A few outdoor shots - there's a storm brewing.

I am loving the design walls.  Jen has joined up with me.

End of first day, session 2.

7/18 - Day??  Hmmm.  I think it is 7.  Tonia has a TA-DA

Cindy's TA-DA.  These girls are amazing.

Sherri has a TA-DONE!!  She has been binding to get this one finished.

Well, in theory, the northern lights are reaching all the way into Texas tonight, but we have soooo many clouds that we're missing it.

Ramona has a stack of TA-DONES!!  Bags and more bags.

Linda's fall TA-DA

Jen has her TA-DA on her Missouri Star quilt from last July.

Two different pics taken as the people changed due to a few moments requiring my attention - oh don't worry, Nurse Debi handled it well.

9/19 - Day 8 and I have a TA-DA.  I can't finish the buttons until after quilting, but it's headed there now.

AND a second TA-DA for me.  My Project of Doom is ready too.

The bag ladies had a great retreat.

Game night -

But first -- we have advancements to do.  Tonia is EMERALD!!

And Ramona has hit the top --- she is a SILVER DIAMOND!!  So very fun.

Time for games.

Winners are Lisa and Stephanie.  Congratulations!!

Jen has been putting binding on her quilts that are back and here is her Farm Girl Show and Share.

Another fabulous day!!!

7/20  - It's Day 10 and so much to finish up even though the retreat doesn't end until tomorrow.  I am leaving tonight after dinner as a group of us are heading to Missouri for the Doan Girls Retreat.  However, there is still so much fun to be had here.  We missed the group picture last weekend, but at least I got shots of everyone to share.  This week, I remembered to gather them all up.  Back row:  Ramona, Frieda, Cindy, Stephanie, Stephannie, Lisa, Linda.  Front row:  Debi, Gwen, Sherri, Tonia, Jen.  Yep, I'm peeking in the from the side.  Love, love, love to all.

Cindy with a TA-DA.  She has rocked this retreat.

All my lovely gifts.

More from the bag ladies -

The ladies still up for last night.

7/21 Day 11 - Debi and Stephannie shut everything down, but Stephannie had a TA-DA to share first.

Thank you so much to these two for all the wonderful help they give me.  I truly could not still be doing this without them.  Getaway Out until November.
