May 2022 Monthly Quilt Update

Our theme this year is just so fun.  If you didn't get a chance to check out the post explaining it all --- here is the LINK to the initial post and another May LINK  as well.  I'm super excited about where this will take me.  I know we all have colors that may not bring on the warm fuzzies, but this will be a chance to really challenge ourselves and we may find that our tastes can change.

If you are new to the blog, you may be asking, "just what is a monthly update?"  I decided long ago that I just can't keep up with blogging daily.  I just can't.  Sooooo, what happens is I document a day in my life within one post and if something special happens, a separate post takes place.  See, you can stay caught up with a once a month check and then, if you're interested, see the other posts too.  It's a great system for me.

In years past, I have set goals for each month and I will continue to do that simply to keep myself on track.  UFO mode will continue around here with minimal purchases (hopefully), but also a few fun and new items will make an appearance now and then.  The "hopeful attempts" will change each month and will always show up at the bottom of the update if you read that far - and they are joined by links to the previous monthly updates for the year.

Now, grab a cuppa and sit back for a fun read and perhaps a new idea or two.   (P.S. I format on a computer, so if you are reading on a phone, well sometimes the pictures will be before or after the story.  It is what it is.

Let's go May - love me some turquoise.

June - Color Your World - Blue

June has arrived and we are ending out the first half of the year with BLUE.  This year's theme is full of thought provoking information and I'm loving the chance to Color Your World along with everyone else.  Why blue in June?  I really don't have a good reason, except that, for me, June begins our summer season and I associate that with rivers, lakes, and oceans.  Add in some blue sky and I'm ready to just lay and watch the clouds.  Our monthly project is featured here along with a BINGO card for those who wish to play.  I'll also have several BLUE blocks in Pat Sloan's sew-a-long, but she's on a different color, purple and that one is still ahead for us.  Here is June, in all her glory, so enjoy and don't forget that cuppa.

Brazos House Retreat - Snapshot in Time

Round TWO begins with tradition.  As the room fills up, a group of us is off to Babe's for lunch and manage to meet up with Betty and Lou, who are attending a nearby retreat.  There's always room for two more at our table.

Brazos House May 2022 Tweeners

Tweener Time has begun and we are thoroughly enjoying some down time.  Even my camera has gone into rest mode, but we have a few pics to share.

Ramona has added borders to last weeks TA-Da for a final TA-DA--- love, love, love it.

Brazos House Retreat - Get Your Kicks on Route 66

I cannot believe that the May retreats have arrived.  Our retreat season has gone WHOOSH!  We have back to back's this week and I have a list a mile long of things to accomplish.  Fingers crossed BUT I still want to visit and spend time with others - treasuring each and every moment that I can as it will be a bit until our Mid-summer gathering.

Fortunately, for me, Debi and Gwen came in last night as a birthday gift and did all the set up.  As I arrive, I am able to finish with the small items and settle in.  Let's have some fun.
