March 2022 Monthly Quilt Update

Our them this year is just so fun.  If you didn't get a chance to check out the post explaining it all --- here is the LINK to the initial post and another March LINK  as well.  I'm super excited about where this will take me.  I know we all have colors that may not bring on the warm fuzzies, but this will be a chance to really challenge ourselves and we may find that our tastes can change.

If you are new to the blog, you may be asking, "just what is a monthly update?"  I decided long ago that I just can't keep up with blogging daily.  I just can't.  Sooooo, what happens is I document a day in my life within one post and if something special happens, a separate post takes place.  See, you can stay caught up with a once a month check and then, if you're interested, see the other posts too.  It's a great system for me.

In years past, I have set goals for each month and I will continue to do that simply to keep myself on track.  UFO mode will continue around here with minimal purchases (hopefully), but also a few fun and new items will make an appearance now and then.  The "hopeful attempts" will change each month and will always show up at the bottom of the update if you read that far - and they are joined by links to the previous monthly updates for the year.

Now, grab a cuppa and sit back for a fun read and perhaps a new idea or two.   (P.S. I format on a computer, so if you are reading on a phone, well sometimes the pictures will be before or after the story.  It is what it is.

Come March --- Roar in with some wonderful GREEN.

Brazos House Retreat - Money, Money, Money - It's a Quilter's Life

Our retreat weekend has begun and it's just so nice to see everyone again.  Although there was a retreat last weekend, I don't feel as though I really had much time with people ---- crazy over-committed and I've learned from it.  Let the fun begin

Brazos House March 2022 Tweeners

Well, I am still in D.C. so don't have a lot of commenting on theses pics until the end of the post.  That means just enjoy the fun and make a decision to come and play with us sometime.   Oh, in case you are new to the blog ---- Tweeners are those that travel quite far to retreat (and sometimes others) and pay to stay for the "between" days.  It's quiet time and no organized anything, including food.

Brazos House Retreat - If I Ruled the World

9th -  It's Retreat time!!  I'm heading down the evening before with "tuna push-up pops" in hand.  Gotta love that man of mine.  It's the first retreat I've set up by myself in quite some time and I had forgotten just how much work it is.  Crazy.  I have most of it finished by the time Debi arrives and we have a nice evening together.

10th - Let the fun begin!  The house starts filling up and before I know it, lunch time arrives and the cars depart for Babes.  Tradition!!  Since we are in back-to-backs, I'll get to do this twice and am splurging on a chicken-fried steak.

March Color Your World - Green

Welcome to March 2022 AND Color Your World!  This new theme is just so fun and I cannot believe how much I've learned already.  This month we are going to explore GREEN - makes sense right?  After all - St. Patrick's Day keeps everyone in tune with the color during March.  Additionally, the world is starting to enjoy Spring - and that means green as well.  Our monthly project is featured here along with a BINGO card for those who wish to play.  I'll also have several GREEN blocks in Pat Sloan's sew-a-long, but she'll be using orange and we'll get to that in another month.  So, here ya go and enjoy -- oh yeah, grab that cuppa.
