Links to Our Quilt World and  Our Quilt Blogs Facebook Groups.  Come be a part of us.  Both groups also can be found at the top of the blog using the tabs.  Any links that you click in this post will open in a DIFFERENT window, allowing you to continue reading this without losing the page.

I have moved the previous posts to the end of the entry.  I hope that you make it that far.

Goals:

Round Robin (RR) blocks (14)  cut, sewn, attached, and row mailed - yes
BOM blocks (3) complete -  yes and bonus HST's
Orange Crush (OC) ripped out, re-sandwiched, quilted and bound - no
Bow-Dacious (BD)  area ripped out, quilted, labeled, binding on - no
Jennifer's 9 patches resewn, signed, and mailed - yes
Christmas blocks - worked on and layout finished
Block a Day continued (BAD) - BAD girl here
Collect Row by Row Patterns - My friends did super for me here again this month.
Ribbons Of Love (ROL) - Oh my -- so much time spent here!  Woohoo.  1st clue is out.

1st -  I have a session of summer camp going this week so know that my sewing time will literally not exist.  If you wish to skip ahead -- feel free.  Today is spent creating a video.  Here is the LINK if you wish to check it out.  It is all about the upcoming mystery quilt.

2nd - What a busy, busy day.  We had a morning at the Children's Aquarium and Lagoon before going to see Inside Out.  Whew.

3rd - DART is our friend.  We are off to Jump Street for the day.  Trying to wear these boys out.

4th - Ah --- the Zoo.  My favorite for sure.  Evening with Grandpa at the Splash Pad.

5th - Time with Caleb making a birdhouse and then cookies.  Creativity has to take place somehow when sewing eludes me.

6th -  Raef wants to make a pillowcase to match his quilt just like Jared and Josh did.   Woohoo!! we get to sew.  After getting movie going for Ryan and Caleb, we are off to the studio to make that happen.  Once the scraps have been located, he sets to designing his cuffs and does it with a focus that amazes me.  It takes us about 2 hours and he is finished.  He did a fantastic job and stayed on task the whole time.  Woohoo.  The boys movie has just finished -- time for the park before we have to do laundry and pack.  I can't believe our time is over.  So sad.

Ribbons of Love - Clue 1

CLUE 1

Oh my gosh -- the day is finally here!  Can you believe it?  Me either?  Part of me thinks it took forever and the other part wants to know where the summer went.  Either way -- today is the day and I could not be more excited.

I am THRILLED with the way my quilt top turned out!!!  I AM doing a second one with all of you and doing it in constants to see the difference).  The only thing I might change on mine is to STAY with tone on tones for the neutral and/or and use a constant here.  You are absolutely free to join my scrappy madness, but if you want a place for your eye to rest -- tone it down a bit in this one area.  This quilt also lends itself beautifully to using 4 constant fabrics which is what I am going to do with the second one.  After seeing the finished product, this second time I will be using the darkest purple, the palest blue and one of the middle greens along with my constant tone on tone neutral.  If you are using all the colors on the cards, as we are sewing try and keep two really darks from being together and two really lights --- we don't want the darks to cancel each other out and the lights would blend with the neutral too much.

This is being posted in both Our Quilt World and From the Studio Facebook groups.  If you are a member of another SMALL group, please feel free to post the link there.  The more, the merrier but 40k is just too dang many.

First though -- I have to  set a few ground rules.  I know -- everyone hates rules -- but it will make it oh so much more fun for everyone involved, including me.

Rule Number 1:  Please DO post your steps.  I dearly want to see how you are doing and so does everyone else.

Please Welcome Danielle - My 185K

Introducing Danielle!  We purchased her at an estate sale last spring and Mister has just finished bringing her back to her glory along with her cabinet.  I am over the moon happy with her.  Her first task will be to finish the Bargello quilt that I started yesterday.  What a beauty.  Enjoy the eye candy.

Mary's Bargello Class

I am off to Crandall, TX today.  My friend, Mary, is teaching a Bargello class and I want to learn the technique on using different size strips so signed up.  Also, it just happens that several of my friends are also taking the class and we always need time together.  Pictured above from left to right:  Roberta, Tammy, Mary, Brenday, and Rita.  What an amazing group of women.

Plano Quilt Show w/Friends

It's "Girl's Day" and I have been so looking forward to it all week.  Despite the fact that I somehow lost a day this week, the morning finds me alert and ready for an adventure.  Detouring towards Irving to drop Mister off, I am then able to point the car towards Plano and the fun that awaits.  Brenda has put together a breakfast meeting before the quilt show which means my first stop is at Poor Richard's Cafe.  Within no time, we have a full table and I am presented with my row by rows that Lee Ann picked up for me in San Antonio and other points south.  I wish I had left town even once this summer to pick up for others. (I was in Billings, but seriously not a free moment to do anything and I've been in Denver 4 times but never left the airport.) One of these patterns is even the coveted turtles from Memories By The Yard.  Look how fun:
